In order to run a club, you need some people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and do some work. Below is a listing of our current officers and a brief description of their duties. Following that are descriptions of our Ski Trip Scheduling Committee and our Special Events Committee.

Officers

President

Adam Weissman
Preside over club and board meetings. Oversee operation of the club.

Vice President

Maria Carrera
Assist the President with the management of the club. Assist the Ski-Coordinator and Media positions on an as needed basis.

Ski Coordinator

Gene Sackman
Oversee ski activities, including scheduling ski events, selecting trip locations & trip leaders.

Non-Ski Event Coordinator

Melanie Cini
Oversee all non-ski activities, including scheduling of events & enlisting members to run them.

Membership Coordinators

Scott Konzelmann
Handle all membership related activities including dispensing information to prospective members, signing up new members, maintaining membership database & mailing lists and developing strategies to attract new members.

Historian

Maureen McCann
Maintain records of the year's trips & meetings.

Media

Carolyn Harris
Handles all club communications. This includes the club newsletter, mass e-mail, blog, etc.

Voucher Administrator

Dane Ferber
Administers the New Jersey Ski Council's voucher program for the Hoboken Ski Club.

Treasurer

Jen Chernofsky
Handle financial aspects of the club including assets, budget, bank account, etc.

Webmaster

Gary Toriello
Administer the club's online activities including the internet website & e-mail.

Officers are elected once a year by a general vote of the club's membership. Their term lasts one year. All members are invited to run for an officer's position. Anyone interested in an office must submit their intention of running for a position to the President or Vice President of the club.

Committees

Everyone who assists with running the Hoboken Ski Club is doing so on a volunteer basis. We encourage all of our members to be as involved as they want to be. Whether you're a new member, or a veteran member who wants to do more with the club, you can do so by joining one of our committees.

The Ski Trip Scheduling Committee meets regularly from April through June and assists the ski coordinator in planning the ski trip calendar for the upcoming year. Members of the committee attend local ski shows in Manhattan or New Jersey, research resorts around the world and then select and schedule the trips. This committee has been responsible for the Hoboken Ski Club providing a trip schedule that has something for everyone - trips in the Northeast, Western United States, Europe, and South America.

The Special Events Committee meets once a month throughout the year and assists the non-ski coordinator in planning non-ski activities. This committee is responsible for setting the non-ski calendar for the entire year. Regardless of our name, we're proud that we have far more activities planned than just skiing. We need to something while we're waiting for it to snow! The members of this committee have been very creative in coming up with activity ideas, and assisting other members with bringing theirs to life.

The Special Events Committee urges any member with an event/activity they want to run to come discuss it at one of their meetings.
